To make sure the rich-text editor is available for messages you write using a specific account in Mozilla Thunderbird, Mozilla SeaMonkey, or Netscape : Select Edit > Account Settings (Windows, Linux) or Tools > Account Settings. It’s very integrated suite of internet applications and many users like it that way. Mozilla-based products for Windows, Mac and Linux are the Mozilla and SeaMonkey suites (browser, email, newsgroups and HTML editor), Firefox browser and. I still think that Mozilla suite is more mature than Firefox and Thunderbird as whole. So in short: They put all their efforts on underlying technology which can be used in *both* browsers. In long term, like has stated, when Firefox and new XUL (was it XUL?) toolkit matures enough, it will replace Mozilla Browser as default browser, as Thunderbird will replace Mozilla Mail. Only difference is that if Firefox author decide to use it or not. So in short: functionality that is made to Mozilla source tree is also directly available in Firefox. The difference is toolkit which they use for user interface. Some highlights are: drag&drop reordering of tabs, phishing e-mail detection, support for a single shared inbox when using multiple accounts, and support for Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG). They use same function calls, same rendering engine etc. I wonder why they still bother developing Mozilla and don’t put all their efforts into Thunderbird and Firefox?įirefox and Mozilla are from same source tree. It’s so much faster it’s not funny anymore. ![]()
